Boro Info - Stadium Info
THE RIVERSIDE STADIUM
Please remember like a lot of other PL grounds the Riverside is a seated
only stadium, which means you are not allowed to stand.
Of course if you want to sing "stand up, if you love Boro" then there is no
problem, however standing through the whole match will result in future
punishment by means of an attendance allocation cut-back if you are an away
team fan. Be sensible.!!
PROGRAMMES
The MFC official programme "Red Square" is available en route to the ground and the Boro
fanzine "Fly me to the Moon" is also available around the ground. Both
publications cost about £3.00 each.
Once you arrive at the automated turnstiles, slide your credit style ticket into the slot
at the turnstile and enter, you are NOT allowed to smoke anywhere in the
Riverside Stadium remember not even the toilets or in the outside seated
areas.
IN THE CONCOURSE AREA
Remember - You are NOT allowed to smoke anywhere in the stadium.
Inside the ground there are lots of TV screens etc so you can keep up to
date with the team news and latest scores etc.
There are bars and betting offices together with the usual fast food burger
bars. In some areas there are also play station game consoles. There are
also numerous 'Ladbrokes' betting offices around the ground where you can
have a flutter on the final score if you want. Being a Boro-Fan I
always go for Boro win 2-1 but don't hold me to it.!!!
IN THE (GROUND) SEATED AREA
Remember - You are NOT allowed to smoke anywhere in the stadium - Sorry this
is a bore but rally relevant.
Remember - You are NOT allowed to stand during the game, the Riverside is a
seated stadium only.
MALE TOILETS
There are plenty of these in all parts of the ground - male toilets are
constructed of the stainless steel trough style variety, common now to so
many football stadiums where getting sheer numbers through as fast as
possible is the main purpose rather than individualitiy. Toilets are clean and functional with hand wash and dry facilities and an array
of coin op machines for every occasion.!!
There will be an obvious rush at half or full time when you can expect some
delay but any queue is constantly moving. While you are having a pee you can
also stand and observe one of many 3D adverts that are now located on the
walls in front of you, those marketing guys know when they have a captured
audience!!!
FEMALE TOILETS
There are plenty of these in all parts of the ground.
They are clean and functional with hand wash and dry facilities and an array
of coin op machines for every occasion like the male toilets.!! Just
like the guy's toilets though, expect delays at peak times such as half and
full time but any queue is constantly moving. I have been reliably
informed (by my wife) that toilet paper, soap etc has never been a problem
so go spend that penny with confidence!
CLUB SHOP(S)
There is a large club shop located at the North-West corner of the ground
(located near the river).
There is also one of the largest retail football stores in the country
located in the Albert Square shopping centre.
This is in central Middlesbrough - through the main bus station.
